Jonnie was born on November 18, 1946 in Iraan, Texas to Gilbert and Myra Butler who preceded him in death. He married Linda Brewster on January 29,1966 in Andrews. Jonnie was the owner of L & M Backhoe Service in Andrews. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting and a good cigar. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the joy of his life. He was always available for whatever they were involved in, whether sports, studies or life! Jonnie passionately shared the life and love of Christ Jesus with everyone who crossed his path. He faithfully served as Bishop of St. Athanasius Church in Andrews, Texas and was ordained in the Christian Orthodox Church of America.
Jonnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda, daughters, Jeannie Cooley and husband Bo of Andrews, Janie Miller of Andrews and Jana Jarldane of Seminole, sister, Terrye Risenhoover and husband, Mark of Andrews, grandchildren, McKaylee Carruth and husband Sean, Matt Cooley, Jon Fulwider and wife Peyton, Edie Jarldane, Luke Cooley, Emma Jarldane, great-grandchildren, Colton Carruth, Hartlee Carruth, and 2 on the way, Miller Carruth and Deacon Carruth.
