Obituary

Maylayne Miller Brown, a long-time resident of Andrews, died April 11, 2020 in Odessa, Texas.
Her family led a celebration of the life and legacy of Maylayne at a beautiful graveside memorial on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Andrews Old Cemetery.

Maylayne was born on June 2, 1941 in Cross Plains, Texas to father, Claude Olvis Miller and mother, Hazel Fostine Upton Miller. She married her high school sweetheart of 58 years, Joe Neal Brown on July 17, 1960. Joe went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2018. She met Joe, whom she adored and admired, in 1958, and together they were active community members in local car clubs, enjoying their neighbors and friends. Maylayne loved Cadillacs, Elvis, their dog, Betsy, and lunch with her friends.

She is survived by her son Terry Lee Brown and daughter-in-law Shelly Brown of Odessa, her daughter, Tonya Elenburg and son-in-law Kent Elenburg of Odessa, her grandchildren, Tatem Morris and husband Will Morris of Carlsbad, Carson Brown and wife Kacee Brown of Rowlett, Barrett Brown and wife Sara Brown of Fort Worth, Casey Raines and husband Turner Raines of Rockwall, Tyler Elenburg and wife Caroline Elenburg of Richmond, Tanner Elenburg and wife Shelby Elenburg of Midland, and her great-grandchildren, Ainslee Morris, Jack Morris, Sadie Jo Brown, Weston Lee Brown, Shepherd Kent Alcantar, Ruby Rae Alcantar, Everly Grace Elenburg, Parker Marie Elenburg and baby Raines on the way.

So sorry to hear of Maylayne"s passing. Trying to find where her family was and knew she had moved from prior home. Also wanted to let family know of Margie Oakes _ Donnie's wife passed away in lat Feb.. Donnie is in nursing home in waco after Margie passed. I will be making a donation to Alzheimers in her memory because they have to find a cure. Donny and my brother both have it as many of our family has been affected. I remember the fun Reunions we celebrated together around Cross Plains & Santa Anna with you, even my kids mention them too. I was Looking for Maylayne and found she passed this past month. I am so sorry I didn't know where the kids were. I wanted to let the family know about Margie Oakes- Donnie's wife- she passed this past Feb. and Donnie is in Nursing home in Waco, tx . So my Brother Terry Upton and myself & Donnie are the last of us. I will be making a donation to the Alzheimers assc. in her memory. This disease has taken many of our family- my brother & Donnie both have it. Most Sincerely I regret not keeping in better touch with you kids. We did have fun at the reunions YEARS ago around Cross Plains - Santa anna tx . Our Love to all the Family, Janice & Don Williams- Terry & Betty Upton and Donald Oakes & Susan Ramsdale.
