Victor “Ray” Martinez, Jr., 43, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in Lubbock.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Jubilee for Jesus Ministries, 1702 West Broadway, in Andrews with Pastor Kevin Covington of Second Baptist Church in Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Ray was born on December 1, 1975 in Andrews to Victor Ybarra Martinez, Sr. and Maria Zamora Martinez. He was raised and attended schools in Andrews and had worked as a Derrick Hand in the oil and gas well service industry. He married Karla Lydia Bueno on November 5, 1994 in Andrews, which she had been his sweetheart since high school. She was the love of his life and was the only one that could keep him in line. He loved spending time with his family watching the Dallas Cowboys and barbecuing. He enjoyed being outside watering his yard and plants and riding his motorcycle. He was a fanatic of western movies and loved rock music. He loved playing barbies every night with granddaughter, GenGen and taking her out to the park and playing with her on the trampoline. His two daughters and his granddaughter were his world, and he loved spending as much time with them as he could. He liked to play fight with his sisters and was a second father to many of their children. He loved to have breakfast with his parents on the weekend. He was preceded in death by his son, Victor Martinez, III, grandparents, Louis and Isabel Martinez, Jose and Delfina Zamora, and Mela Moreno, and brother in law, Junior Martinez.
Ray is survived by his wife, Karla Martinez of Andrews, 2 daughters, Isabel Martinez and husband, Zeke Carrasco, of Andrews, Kayla Martinez of Andrews, his parents, Victor, Sr. and Maria Martinez of Andrews, 4 siblings, Victoria Garcia and husband, Manuel, of Andrews, Senaida Martinez of Andrews, Josie Fernandez and husband, Jose, of Andrews, Lori Lujan and husband, Lalo, of Andrews, his precious granddaughter, Genesis Carrasco of Andrews, and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and many friends that will miss him.
