Richard “Dickie” Gregory, Sr., 77, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a memorial service at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 18, 2019 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Allen Strambler, Sr., officiating. Cremation is under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Please visit for obituary information, service details, and family pictures and videos.

Richard was born on April 24, 1941 in Seagraves, Texas to Richard Evans Gregory and Edith Mae Powers Gregory. He was raised in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1959. He had lived in Odessa and Andrews. While in Andrews, he had worked for M & M Chevrolet as the parts manager for 17 years and for Amoco as a pumper for 12 years. He was a past member of the Andrews Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed traveling, casinos, was a jokester, and was a good friend to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Royce Gregory, and a special friend, Elizabeth Wesley.

Dickie is survived by his 2 sons, Ricky Gregory and wife, Karen, of Andrews and Randal Gregory and wife, Sandy, of Andrews, 1 sister, Edith Carlson of Dallas, 5 grandchildren, David Gregory and wife, Lauren of Andrews, Chris Gregory and wife, Dani, of Prosper, Kellie Yarbrough and husband, Kyle, of Andrews, Casey Williams and husband, Clay, of Boerne, and Ashley Gregory of Austin, and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Permian Residential Care Center, PO Box 2108, Andrews, Texas 79714.

I've only just now heard of Uncle Dickie's death. On behalf of my parents and my entire family, I offer our sincerest condolences. My fondest memories consist of all of the times we spent at family gatherings at Pa and Gran Gregory's house in Big Spring and their lake house. I can hear Uncle Dickie's voice right now; his slow West Texas drawl and that dry sense of humor he no doubt got from Pa. To Aunt Jan, Ricky and Randy, I wish had your contact info so I could talk with you personally (I'm on FaceBook). Otherwise, you are in my prayers. Uncle Dickie passed on the same date that Greg passed so long ago. Then, a good friend told me, "You will not forget but you will recover. It just takes time." My condolences to the Gregory family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.

My most beloved memory of Richard has been countless ones through the years. He has been part of my family for the last twenty years. He was always there for anyone in my family if they needed anything. He was my moms best friend and companion and we all loved him like a dad,, grandfather, and great grandfather. You will be missed Richard. Fly high with the angels. We will miss you and love you forever. Keep playing golf and gambling at those casinos. Enjoy all your trips now with my mother.
