Chris “Hooligan” Kelly, 37, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at La Nueva Jerusalem Church, 2535 NW Mustang Drive, in Andrews. The family will be escorted before and after the services by the Brotherhood of 74. Visitation will be from 9 AM – 9 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Cross Hill Church of God, 1703 SC-252, in Belton, South Carolina with Rev. John Christmas officiating.
The family encourages everyone to attend either service on their motorcycles and attire, so they can give “Hooligan” a proper motorcycle send off.
Chris was born on January 15, 1981 in Anderson, South Carolina to Elmer Allen Kelly and Patty Elaine Swink. He was raised in Belton, South Carolina and graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years and in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He married Katerah June McEwen on September 18, 2001 in Anderson, South Carolina, and they moved to Andrews in 2009. He has worked for Solar Turbines since 2009 as a field service representative. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Orange, Texas and the Brotherhood of 74 motorcycle riders Kermit Chapter. He enjoyed woodworking, teaching his kids to cook, and was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He loved to ride on his motorcycle with family and friends and travel the world. He loved caring for his rescue dogs, especially Chapo, who rode with him on his motorcycle. Chris is preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Swink and his dog, Chapo.
Chris is survived by his wife, Katerah Kelly of Andrews, 2 children, C.J. and Isabella Kelly of Andrews, father, Allen Kelly and wife, Adrian, of Belton, S.C., mother, Patty Shaw of Belton, S.C., grandparents, Elmer and Betty Kelly and Paul Swink, both of Belton, S.C., 2 brothers, Adam Kelly and wife, Anna, and Hunter Kelly, both of Belton, S.C., 2 sisters, Elizabeth Kelly and Stevie Shaw, both of Belton, S.C., 5 brother in laws, 1 sister in law, and many nephews and nieces.
