Jerry Warren, 77, of Lubbock passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 in Lubbock.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Jerry Berry of Midland officiating. Jerry was born on January 29, 1941 in O’Donnell, Texas to Lissus Gean Warren and Barbara Nell Braswell Warren. He was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. He had worked as a communication specialist for the Texas Department of Public Safety in El Paso, Pecos, and moved to Midland in 1975. He had also worked in motor vehicle inspections and the radio room and retired after 37 years of service to the State of Texas. He married LaDean Kay Hitch on June 17, 2000 in Midland, and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2016. He moved to Lubbock in 2018 to be closer to his son, Jodi. He enjoyed blue grass music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Arnold, Runt, Chuck, and Sam Warren, and 4 sisters, Theo Taylor, Berlene Warren, Ona Lee Gresham, and Verla Coe.
Jerry is survived by his 2 sons, Jodi Warren and wife, Judy, of Lubbock and Mike Williams and wife, Marietta, of Marble Falls; daughter, Lisa O’Leary and husband, Brian, of Ava, Missouri; brother, Jimmy Warren and wife, Sandy, of Odessa; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jordan, and Xaylee of Lubbock; 6 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
