Judy Rae Wortham Cate, 64 year old San Angelo resident, beloved wife, mother, mother- in-law, grandmother and friend entered into her eternal life on Monday, January. 30, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy fought and WON the battle with breast cancer not once but twice. Judy was an amazing advocate for breast cancer awareness and was a very proud survivor. Judy fought her blood cancer with the same determination to survive. The Lord saw her getting tired during this fight and eased her pain this time. Judy was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on November 21, 1947 to Ernest Raymond Wortham and Ruby Faye Mays Wortham. Judy married her true soul mate, Terry William Cate on June 8, 1985. Judy loved life and her family, especially her second family from Wall Elementary and all the teachers. Judy enjoyed reading, scary movies, all her animals and playing Bunko with the girls. Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Wortham and son, William Zane Cate. Judy is a survived by her husband, Terry Cate, father Raymond Wortham, daughter Stacye Williams Jackson and husband Tommy of San Angelo, Texas, daughter Rene'e Cate Bunn and husband Daniel of Ozark, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Casey Jackson of Fort Worth, Texas, Meagan Soto of Midland, Texas, Laynie Mesh of San Angelo, Texas, Londyn Bunn of Ozark, Alabama, Aubrey and William Cate of Loveland, Colorado, Zachary and Nathaniel Cate of Odessa, Texas. One great- grandchild Ella Soto of Midland, Texas. Judy is also survived by her best friend who was more like a sister than a friend, Cindy Barnett of San Angelo, Texas.

Services will be held at McNett Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Dan Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old Cemetery.

Please feel free to wear pink or her favorite color purple to the celebration of Judy's life to honor her fight against both breast and blood cancer.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to the Judy Cate Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Wall Education Foundation, P.O. Box 259, Wall, Texas 76957.

#11 Brenda Horton Loving 2012-02-01 18:42 Stacye, Sorry about your Mother. I buried my mother today. Judy and I were neighbors when I was three and your mother was six. I have pictures of us in my Aunt Mary's lap. Ricky and I went to school with Judy. Judy is in Heaven with Aunt Mary, Mother and Granny. We are never ready to let go, but we don't want them to suffer. They are free of pain. God Bless you and your Dad Quote

#14 Sandy Simpson 2012-02-03 02:26 Wish I could be there with all of you to remember the good times with Judy. She meant a lot to me and I already miss picking up the phone and talking to her. She could always make me smile. I know she's at peace and free of pain and worry and right in the middle of a great family reunion! Love you all. Quote
