Betty Ray Horton, 79 of Andrews, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Home Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.  

 Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8PM at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Jeff Chapman and Rev. Ted Short will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

  Betty was born September 5, 1932in Winters, Texas to Tillman and Lila (Carter) Jennings. She married R.C. Horton December 21, 1948 in Andrews. They have been long time Andrews residents since 1948.   She worked as a bookkeeper, and worked for several grocery stores in Andrews including, Jay Williams, Marlow’s and Furrs. She loved to Knit and crochet things for her family and friends. She loved her church and was a very active member. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and she really loved people. She loved her family and her dogs, Josie and Maggie.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary Lou Beard, and her son Rodney Curtis Horton.  

  She is survived by her husband, R.C. Horton of Andrews; daughters, Brenda Loving and her husband Ricky of Andrews; Cynthia Slack and her husband Pete of Granbury, Texas; Sherry Downs and her husband Chuck of Durant, Oklahoma; Step-daughter Sue Burns of Odessa, Texas; one brother, Tillman C. Jennings, Jr. and his wife Neta of Roswell, NM; Grandchildren ,Christy Munziani and her husband Greg; Jason Loving and his wife Shayna; Sonya Lopez; Bradley Slack and his wife Paige; Rodney Slack and his wife Alison; Latesha Hallmark and Levi Arnold; Ashley Hallmark and Brett Taylor; Stephanie Curtis and Husband Doug; Charlotte Hamil and husband Shawn; Darren, Michael and David Whitehead and Great-Grandchildren, Kali and Abby Loving; Preston, Sydni and Hunter Loving; Brylee and Zachery Muziani; John, Alex and Julie Lopez; Bradyn, Camdyn ”Camo”; Gracyn; and Bowen Slack; Maddox Walker; Addison  and Brady Curtis; Zach and Drew Hamil; Randy and Tyler Whitehead.
