John Mulkey, 70, of Andrews passed away Thursday January 19, 2012 at his home in Andrews, Texas.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. John's Father-in-Law, Rev. Don Wilson will officiate. Services are directed by McNett Funeral Home. Visitatin will be Monday 6-8 at McNett Funeal Home.
John was born April 15, 1941 in Gilbert, Louisiana. He has been a longtime Andrews's resident.
John married Connie Wilson December 30, 1986 in Andrews. He worked for Basic for over 15 years and had worked at Key Energy the last several years. John loved to pray to his Heavenly Father, and reading his Bible. His priorities were: Jesus Christ and Family. He never had much but he gave all that he had to God and family and when he felt that he got his priorities in the correct order God took what he had and multiplied them many time over.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff Truly and Rachel (Brook) Mulkey, his special son, William Scott Mulkey; Brothers, J.T., Floyd, Herbert and Huey Mulkey and sister Clara Bell Martin and Annie Pearl Burch.
He is survive d by his wife, Connie Mulkey of Andrews; son, Bill Jones of Odessa; daughter Mary Ann Brasher of Midland; brothers Ellis Mulkey of Vicksburg, MS; Bill Mulkey of Winnsboro, LA; sisters Dorothy Simmons of Newton, Texas; Mary Smith of Angelo, LA; grandson, Terry York of Andrews, Granddaughters Cassie York of Midland, Paige Mulkey of Midland and Rhylea Mulkey of Carlsbad, NM Great Grand-daughter Katelynn Smith and his father-in- law and mother-in-law, Don and Jane Wilson.
