Joyce Mitchell, 81, of Midland, formerly of Andrews, passed away Sunday September 25, 2011 at Manor Park in Midland.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Andrews Church of Christ. Rev. Terry Hancock of Bangs, Texas will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born June 12, 1930 in Dunn, Texas to Lloyd and Bertha Cotton. She moved to Andrews in 1945.

She married Lynn L. Mitchell March 12, 1948 in Andrews.

She was the Deputy County Clerk for Andrews County for many years. She was a member of Andrews Church of Christ. She loved to play Bridge and was a silver life master. She was a member of the Midland Bridge Club.  She moved to Midland in 1996 from Andrews. She loved to travel, read and crochet.

She was preceded in death by her parent, her husband, Lynn L. Mitchell in 1982 and a daughter, Brenda Mitchell in 1952.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Buzan of Midland and her son, Royce Mitchell and his wife Judy of Midland; and three grandchildren, Ben Buzan of San Antonio, Texas; Megan Mitchell Clark and her husband Coby of Dallas and Jeremiah Mitchell of New York City.

They family will receive friends Thursday at 6:00 PM at 2205 Country Club, Midland, Texas.
